Do I need a Visa?

For UK visa purposes, the world is divided into 3 areas:

  1. European Union (EU)/European Economic Area (EAA) and Switzerland
  2. Visa National Countries
  3. Non Visa National Countries

 

1) European Union (EU)/European Economic Area (EAA) and Switzerland  

If you are a citizen of any EU or EEA country plus Switzerland you do not require a visa to enter the UK. These countries are listed below.

2) Visa National Countries  

If you are a citizen of any of the countries listed below you will need a visa to enter the UK. You must obtain your visa before travelling to the UK (this is called pre-entry clearance).

* Venezuelan visitors who have new secure fingerprint passports issued since 2007 will be allowed to enter the United Kingdom without applying for a visa

 

3) Non Visa National Countries  

If you are a citizen of any of the countries listed below you will also need a visa to enter the UK. If you require a General Student Visa, or an Extended Student Visitor Visa, you must get it before you leave home. However it is possible to obtain a 6 month Student Visitor Visa on arrival in the UK.
